With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Hatcher Pitts in Clemson, South Carolina, born in Pendleton, South Carolina, who passed away on June 7, 2021 at the age of 84. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Shirley Hatcher Pitts to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband Jack Verner Pitts of Seneca; her parents, Rev. John Paul and Ileen Garrett Hatcher; and her brother Rudolph Hatcher. She is survived by: her children, Jack Anthony "Tony" Pitts (Glenda) of Seneca and Sandra Pitts Jennings (Charles) of West Union; her brother Rev. Carlos Hatcher (Ovis) of Seneca; and her grandchildren, Blake Pitts, Heather Hunnicutt, Timothy Pitts and Stephanie Reid. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
