He is survived by: his wife Scarlett Clayton Thayer of Clemson; his stepsons, Joey Nimmer (Jean) of Easley and Buster Nimmer of Bluffton; his adoptive son William Burton of Panama City, Florida; his stepdaughter Ann Nimmer of Clemson; his grandchildren, Andy Nimmer, Stephen, Mitchell, Ben, Sam Nimmer, Ryan and Sophia Nimmer; and his sisters, Susan Reinhart (Peter) of Charlotte and Terri Saxon (Lamar) of Columbia, SC..
