He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Eugene Thomas, Sr. and Marjorie Lynn Thomas; his wife Anne Brunson Thomas; his sister Carol Thomas Glover; his brothers-in-law, Scriven Spencer Brunson III and Jack Phillips Brunson "Phil"; and his nephew Ryan Spencer Brunson.
He is survived by: his son Robert Eugene Thomas, III; his grandchildren, Robert Benjamin Thomas and Elizabeth Anne Thomas "Liza"; his sister-in-law Lee Brunson; his nephew David Brunson (Jessica); and his nieces, Leigh Richardson (Rich), Carolyn Hodge (Jay), Suzanne Brunson, Mandy Glover, Amy Jo Glover and Julie Glover Jackson (Alan). He is also survived by nine great nieces and nephews.
