He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Schintzius and Barbara Ward Schintzius. He is survived by: his wife Terese M. Schintzius; and his children, Joseph (Gloria), Robert (Theresa), Philip, Charles (Angela), Brian and Ann (Krista). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and seven siblings.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Andrews Catholic Church.
