He was predeceased by: his wife Leona Kleiner Gilbert; his parents, Charles Gilbert and Matilda Broder Gilbert; his sisters, Alice Grossman Kronish and Lorraine Blumbaum; and his grandson-in-law Kyle Settle.
He is survived by: his children, Craig Gilbert (Kathleen) of Seneca, SC and Lori Taylor (Stephen) of Port Murray; his grandchildren, Katy Furr (Stephen), Jennifer Settle and Jordan Taylor; and his great grandchildren, Kinsley Anne Settle, James Wyatt Settle, Mary Hartwell Settle, Emma Paige Furr and Benjamin William Furr.
