She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucian Deese and Lelia Purvis Deese; her son Jack Adams; and her siblings, James, Harold, Martin, Powell Deese, Ethel Parrish, Essie Boswell, Lucille Gathings and Clella Deese.

She is survived by: her son James Adams (Jane) of Chesterfield, SC; her daughter-in-law Dale Adams of Fredericksburg, VA; her grandchildren, Tonya Abbott (Jim) and Jadd; her great grandchildren, Kennedy, Kassidy, Hudson and Brooks; and her sister Hazel Surratte (Wayne) of Monroe, NC..
