He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Lee Ratliff and Cleo Joines Ratliff; his son Ronnie Eugene Ratliff; and his siblings, Perry and Lula Baker.
He is survived by: his wife Roxie Ratliff; his daughters, Beverly Irby (John) of Winston, Wanda Ratliff, Wells, Charlotte of North Carolina and Persena Ward (Troy); his daughter-in-law Anne Temple Ratliff; his grandchildren, Troy Thomas, Davon Ward, Rasheena Ratliff, Erica Zarrieff and Zoie Irby of Winston; his siblings, Betty Ratliff Baldwin, Margaret Bennett (James Jr.), Marie Chambers (Tony), Diane Ratliff Skeeter, Ira Dan Ratliff (Brenda) and Vernon Ratliff (Valeria); his aunt Audrey Griffin; his great grandchildren, Dayveion Johnson, Rahman Zarrieff, Dalaysia, Zandaya Johnson and Farasa Zarrieff; and his granddaughters, Alena and Elona Irby.
