It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Lee Oakley (Chesterfield, South Carolina), born in Cheraw, South Carolina, who passed away on February 22, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, David Oakley, John Oakley, Jewel Freeman, Peggy Lyon, Bernice Rivers and Dorothy Oakley.
He is survived by: his grandson Brandon Lee; his wife Virginia Johnson Oakley; his daughter Kathy Walters (Wes Walters); his grandson Brandon Walters of Middendorf, SC; his cousins, Helen Blanton of Society Hill, SC and Henry B. Moree of Sellers, SC; his pet Bow; and also Gary Compton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
All in attendance are asked to practice social distancing and follow covid-19 precautions.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
