Robert L. Long Sr. Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert L. Long Sr. (Chesterfield, South Carolina), who passed away on December 23, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Frank and Hattie Mae Whitworth Long; his granddaughter Savanna Lee Beane; and his siblings, Jesse Long, Frank Long, Jimmy Long, Macie Benton, Elizabeth Starnes and Buddy Hancock.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Katherine Brooks Long; his children, Robert Lee Long, Jr. (Renee) of Monroe, NC and Holly Beane (Brad) of Monroe, NC; his grandchildren, Brett Long, Brady Long and Sarah Ashley Laney (Brad); his great grandchild Lynna Kate Laney; and his siblings, Eddie Long (Dianne) of Baltimore, MD, Ruby Baker (Archie) of Beebe, AR and Betty Hill of Cornelius, NC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Hopewell Baptist Church (15084 SC-9, Chesterfield, SC 29709). A reception was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Home of Mr (1610 Trinity Church Rd, Monroe, NC 28112).
