Grooms and Annie McClain Grooms; his spouse Gladys Wallace Grooms; his children, Cecil Grooms (Kathy) of Cheraw, SC, Arlene Hancock (Rex) of Patrick, SC, Troy Grooms of Patrick, SC and Jeff Grooms of Cheraw, SC.; his great grandchildren, Landon Goodwin, Logan Carter, Owen Johnson, Alaina Goodwin, Addison Goodwin, Jace Michael Tadlock, Shane Carter, Luke Sanders, Ella Kate Johnson, Jena Claire Tadlock, Sarah Carter, Harper Sanders and Abel Sanders; his son Danny Lamar Grooms; his siblings, Horace Grooms, Carl Grooms, Bradley Grooms, Dorothy G. Baskins and Myrtle G. Moore; his granddaughter Vannessa Leigh Hancock; and his great grandchildren, Michael Grooms and River Avery Sanders. He is also survived by grandfather that his seven surviving granddaughters.
