She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Taylor and Virginia Helms Taylor; her husband Herman Evan "Sam" Vaughn; and her sisters, Frances Taylor Bowman and Rachel Taylor Broome.
She is survived by: her daughter Kay Vaughn Holmes (DeWayne) of Dunn, NC; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Holmes of Dunn, NC, Evan Holmes of Dunn, NC, Erica Holmes of Cincinnati, OH and Emily Holmes of Austin, TX; and her brothers, James Taylor of Polkton, NC, George Taylor of Polkton, NC and Jerry Taylor (Susie) of Peachland, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
