With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Brooks Chewning-McLeod (Chesterfield, South Carolina), who passed away on September 23, 2021 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Allen Brooks and Bessie Lee Previtt Crowley; her former husband Joe Wilson Chewning; her granddaughter Brooke Marie Chewning; and her stepfather Allen Jackson Crowley.
She is survived by: her husband Robert L. McLeod; her children, Mike Chewning (Nancie) of Cheraw, SC, Freddie Chewning (Teresa) of Cheraw, SC and Tim Chewning (Shawna) of Blythewood, SC; her stepson Michael McLeod (Melody) of Cheraw, SC; her grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Wallace (Nick), Joseph Chewning (Kolleen), Laci Anne Chewning, Alicia Taylor Brazell (Brent), Timothy Austin Chewning (Melissa Broach) and Christopher Garett Chewning; her stepgrandchildren, William Sessoms, Boot Sessoms (Kathy), Anna McGregor and Corey McLeod; her great grandchildren, Harley, Hunter, Addison, Ian and Chloe; and her sister Cheryl Lee Lewis (William) of Hartsville, SC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and dear friends.
