He was predeceased by: his parents, John Burris "J. B." and Virginia Mae Gulledge Hammonds; his stepmother Lessie Mills Hammonds; his son Travis Jenkins; and his brother Gene Hammonds.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jenkins; his children, Scotty Jenkins of Chesterfield, SC, Natalie Price (Horton) of Jefferson, SC, Amy Hayes (Dustin) of Chesterfield, SC and Timmy Jenkins of Hartsville, SC; his grandchildren, Wesley Price, Dylan Price, Mason Hayes, Luke Hayes, Willow Hayes, Taylor Jenkins and Gage Jenkins; his great grandchild Remington Jenkins; his siblings, Robert Hammonds (Katherine), Margie Propst (Greg), James King (Frances), Alvin Hammonds (Amanda), Doris Bobb (Robert), Sara Pendarvis (Woody), John "Bo" Hammonds, Carroll Hammonds, Sue Moore (Chester) and Avis Cooper (Edwin); and his sister-in-law Irene Hammonds. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
