He is survived by: his children, Ron Atkinson of Kingsport, TN, Marybeth Rhoten of Weber City, VA, Teresa Lucas of Kingsport, TN and Don Atkinson of Kingsport, TN; and his siblings, Robert Atkinson (Faye) of Jefferson, SC, William Atkinson (Ginny) of Pageland, SC, Tommy Atkinson of Society Hill, SC, Grady Atkinson (Betty) of Chesterfield, SC, Claire Roberts of Mt. Croghan, SC, Catherine Atkinson of Ruby, SC and Sylvia Lawing of Kannapolis, NC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
