We are sad to announce that on June 5, 2024, at the age of 83, William Ray Thompson of Chester, South Carolina, born in New Orleans, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Vera Thompson Wood; and his siblings, Shirley Stinson, Ann Sumrall, Easley Wood and Everette Wood.
He is survived by: his father Harris Hilton of Tylertown, Miss.; his wife Frances Thomas Thompson; his children, Allen "Ray" Thompson of Chester, James Darin "Cledus" Thompson (Brandy) of Chester and Kristal Thompson Whitmire (Jeremy) of Fort Mill; his grandchildren, Seth Thompson, Alex Thompson, Amilyah Whitmire Murrieta (Marco), Skylar Whitmire and Grayson Whitmire; and his siblings, J. W. Wood (Penny) and Gwen Wood of Tylertown. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
