She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Isaac Canty and Artie Jane George Canty; her husband Joseph Stokes; her stepson Lonnie Newell; her sons, Kenny Stokes, BJ Stokes, Robert Stokes, Berry Stokes, Danny Stokes, Joe Stokes and Glen Stokes; her grandson Christopher Stokes; and her great grandchildren, Christopher Cameron and Dekota Turner.
She is survived by: her daughter Sandra Kay Stokes Black; her daughter-in-law Faye Stokes; and her siblings, Libby Rabon and Bobby Canty. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and also great-great grandchildren.
