With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marlene Rita Mathews Hempel of Chester, South Carolina, born in Racine, Wisconsin, who passed away on April 2, 2024 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Mathews and Irene Labelle Mathews; and her son Scott Anthony Hempel. She is survived by: her husband James Hempel; her children, Debra Roe of Manteno, IL, Nicholas Hempel of Racine, WI, Kristen Petroviak (Ronald) of Chester, SC and Jason Hempel (Lisa) of Racine, WI; and her sister Betty Ortiz of Zapata, TX. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
