He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Douglas (Lottie Louise Cameron Lee) and Jessie; his sister Catherine Ferguson; and his son-in-law Mike Thompkins. He is survived by: his wife Mary Anna Love Lee; his children, Mary "Peaches" Thompkins and Paul Douglas Lee (Karen Lee); his sister Jean Davis; his grandchildren, Abigail, Libby, MariAmber and Mitch (Natalia); and his great grandchild Ezra Lee.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Armenia Methodist Church (2840 Armenia Rd, Chester, SC 29706). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at the Armenia Methodist Church Cemetery (2840 Armenia Rd, Chester, SC 29706).
