He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Atkinson, and Elizabeth Hall Atkinson, Jr.; his former wife Louise Bass Atkinson; and his stepson Dewayne Allen. He is survived by: his wife Diana L. Atkinson; his children, George W. Atkinson, IV of Pender, Nebraska, Ginger Atkinson Darby of Chester and Crystal A. Williford (Brandon) of Chester; his stepchildren, Roger H. Allen (Gina) of Chester, Mary Callahan (Kevin) of Pender and Rhonda A. Stewart (Brian) of Richburg; his siblings, Roger Atkinson (Margie) of Blythwood, SC and Sylvia Lacy of Bromyard, UK; and his grandchildren, Sallie, Emma, Simp, Bryson, Joey, Jordan, Brianna and Lex.
