He is survived by: his wife Sheila Chastain Sanders Powell; his children, Sherry Lynn Powell Tolbert (Chad) of Lexington, SC, Douglas Theodore Powell, Jr. (Stacey) of Jacksonville, FL, David James Sanders of Fort Mill, SC and Lorri Cobb (David) of Fort Mill, SC; and his sister Sandra Powell Rhinehart (Grady) of Inman, SC. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
