He was predeceased by: his parents, Althea Caple German and Francis Thomas German; and his sister Theresa Ann German. He is survived by: his wife Barbara S German; his sons, James Thomas German II and Fredrick Charles German; his brothers, Robert German (Janet) and Michael German (Doreen); and his grandsons, Charles and William German.

In lieu of flowers his desire would be for a contribution to an organization working for cure for cancer.
