It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frances Hammett of Chesnee, South Carolina, born in Gaffney, South Carolina, who passed away on December 1, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Carlisle Lavender and Lois Carmie Farley Lavender; her sister Elizabeth Darwin; and her grandson Jonah Charles Hammett. She is survived by: her children, Rick Hammett (Anne) of Austin, TX, Tom Hammett (Amy) of Lewisville, NC and Donna Jolley (Scott) of Lincolnton, NC; her siblings, Ernest Lavender (Rhea) of Gaffney, Eula Lookadoo of Chesnee, Laverne Wilson (Jim) of Wichita Falls, TX, Louise Lancaster of Gaffney and Juanita Ramsey of Chesnee; and her grandchildren, Amy Lawing (Derek), Beth Sexton (Jeremy), Sara Henderson (Ross), Leanna Hammett (John), Matti Wallin (Andy), Anna Hammett, Tate Hammett, Jeremy Hammett (Alexis) and Jordan Johnson (Jon Eric).
