He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Gene and Thelma Walters Cottingham; his siblings, Ava Cottingham, Hamer Cottingham and Keith Cottingham; and his nephews, Stephen Teal and Lee Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Kelley Cottingham of Cheraw, SC; his sister Jean Teal of Mooresville, NC; his sisters-in-law, Carol Howard of Hartsville, SC, Libby Hughes of Goose Creek, SC and Amy Chance of Jemison, AL; and his nieces and nephews, Leigh Griggs (Kevin), Jennifer Khawaja (Atif), Dawn Hollis, Candy Hoffman, Jennifer Hodges (Joel), Shannon Levandowski (Robert), Kelley Hopper (Matt), Justin Teal (Kim), Matthew Kelley (Sheena), Michael Hughes and Joshua Moore. He is also survived by 12 Great nieces, 14 great nephews, 2 great great nephews and 1 great great niece.
