He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Fredrick and Elizabeth Gillespie Atkinson; and his wife Rosemary Atkinson. He is survived by: his children, Cecilia Holden (Bruce) of Chesterfield, SC, Patricia Gunther (Thomas), David Atkinson (Tracey) of Las Vegas, NV, Daniel Atkinson (Divina) of Rock Hill, SC, Rosemary Starr (Dennis) and Harry Atkinson of Sicily, Italy; and his brother Donald Atkinson. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a hospice organization of one's choice.
