He is survived by: his children, Jackie Chavis of Morrisville, NC and Chris Chavis (Sarah) of Cheraw, SC; his grandchildren, Karen Chavis, Alan Chavis, Kristen Chavis, Clinton Chavis, Jacob Chavis and Liberty Chavis; and his siblings, Edgar Wayne "Tucker" Chavis (Lucy) and Fannie "Sister" Sylvia (Gilbert).
