He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl West Laney and Dorothy Marie Joyner Laney; and his siblings, Roxanne Laney and Robert E. Laney. He is survived by: his son Carl M. Laney of Sumter; his significant other Annanell Freeman of Cheraw; and his siblings, Jack W. Laney of Ridgeland, SC, Cindy Thornhill of Sumter and Tammy Laney Steele of Sevierville, TN. He is also survived by many other dogs, four cats, and a number of nieces and nephews.
