He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter McDermott and Mae McDermott (Collins); and his sister Ann Reynolds (Devere). He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Swantner; his children, Marianne (Joe Strothman), Tom, Edmund (Lisa) and Tiffany (Craig Blackmon); his grandchildren, Kevin, Brian, Katherine, Mathias and Eamon; his sister Kathleen McPartland (Joe); his nieces, Laurie, Doreen, Marybeth and Karen; and his nephew Peter. He is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews, and friends.
Since 2014, Tom and Lorraine have resided at Bishop Gadsden, Charleston, SC, enjoying community life, their lovely cottage, and their delightful dog Tess, who joined them during COVID.
