Memorials may be made to the Charleston Horticultural Society.

“Nobody could have ever asked for a sweeter, kinder, or more elegant friend than Ruthie. I worked with her for years and enjoyed every minute of it. She was a southern lady to the core, but at the same time didn't mind one bit to ask me to pull over when we were both dressed in our business attire for her to pull a pair of shears from her purse to get a cutting from a rose in the bushes. She will be missed by all who knew her. Love to Karine and Caroline.”
