He is survived by: his children, Dorothy H. Lancaster (Gregg) and Richard W. Hanckel IV; his grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Lancaster of Charleston, Anne Hanckel Lancaster of Charleston and Palmer Gregory Lancaster of Charleston; and his brother Chris Hanckel (Margaret) of Hyde Park.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 23rd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the St. Philip's Church (142 Church St, Charleston, SC 29401).
