It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard E. Melton of Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Richard leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Marie Edgington Melton; his parents, Eleanor Drake and Talvin R. Melton; his children, Ted Melton and Tina Melton Fralix (Jason Fralix); and his grandchildren, Cooper Ashton Melton, Tanner Fralix and Taylor Fralix.
