He is survived by: his wife Walta Craven; his children, Richard Craven Jr., Frances Shaffer and James Walter Craven; his siblings, James "BoBo" Craven, Jack Michael Craven and Cynthia "Cindy" Goude; and his granddaughters, Sarah Shaffer, Courtney Shaffer and Olivia Craven.
A memorial service was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Salvation Army (2135 Ashley River Rd, Charleston, SC 29407).
