He was predeceased by: his father Leon Heberden Mims, Sr. (Pearl McLendon Mims); and his wife Thomasvillian Edythe "Candy" Cannady. He is survived by: his children, Leslie Ann Tichich (Richard) of Asheville, NC, Oscar McLendon Mims, Jr. (Vicki) and Frances Louise Parker (Richard); and his grandchildren, Meryl Mims (Scott Kerklo), Trey (Ellie Mims) and Colleen (Shawn Molina).
