He was predeceased by: his brother Clarence Leach; and his sons, Vincent Thomas and Rodney Sumter. He is survived by: his caregivers, Cornelius "Bernie" Leach, Krista "Brianna" Richardson, Stacy and Gary Spruill; his children, Callie, Joyce, Robin, Byron, Wanda and Cassandra; and his sister Barbara Leach Johnson. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.
Viewing was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Morris Brown AME Church (13 Morris St, Charleston, SC 29403). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens (2915 Ashley Phosphate Rd, North Charleston, SC 29418).
