He was predeceased by: his brother Danny Spruill. He is survived by: his wife Ricki Silveria; his children, Ryan Spruill (Tanya) and Jill Spruill; his son-in-law Teun Heyn; his grandsons, Julien Spruill, Jackson Spruill and Wesley Spruill; his siblings, Patti Montgomery (Sammy) and Jerry Spruill; and his sister-in-law Sharon Spruill. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Mike's memory to Rice University.
