It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Joseph Capitan Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on January 11, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernestine Bunch Capitan and John J. Capitan Sr.; and his sisters, Genevieve Capitan and Catherine Capitan Jenkins. He is survived by: his children, John J. Capitan, III of Greenville, SC and Andralee Capitan Bright (Gus); his granddaughter Audrey Caroline Bright of Daniel Island, SC; and his sister Susan Capitan Darby (Ron) of Franklin, NC. He is also survived by three nephews and two nieces.
