He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Palmer Porcher and Julia Legare Porcher. He is survived by: his wife Mary Clement Porcher; his brother Bill; and his children, Joel P. Porcher, Jr. (Barbara), Edward C. Porcher (Terri) and Sarah P. Norris (Bryon). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
