He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Ostendorff Walsh; his mother Mary Helen Hutto Walsh; his brothers, Timmy Walsh and Terry Walsh; and his nephew Marc Walsh.
He is survived by: his father James William Walsh, Jr.; his daughters, Kimberly Root (David) and Elizabeth Hill (Jeff); his grandchildren, Kathryn Holbrooks (Corey), Maddie Jayne (Bryan), Elle Dillon (Zach), Elizabeth Root, David Root, II, Tyler Hill (Emma) and Jaime Hill; his great grandchildren, Valerie, Billie, Margo and Eli; and his sisters, Brenda Moore and Debbie Schneider.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Charleston Rifle Club (2221 Heriot St, Charleston, SC 29403).
