He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Newell Cummings Sr. and Doris Cummings. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda P. Cummings; his children, Justin Cummings (Stephen Birchall) and Nikki Slawson; his grandchildren, Jordan Slawson, Jonathan Slawson and Joseph Lawson; and his sisters, Phyllis Cummings and Felicia Shealor (Malcolm).

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Mark Methodist church.
