She was predeceased by: her parents, Ida Mae Owens and Thomas Reeves; her husband Raymond Mayers; her adoptive parents, Clara Owens and James Umecker; and her sons, Alan Mayers, Jimmy Mayers and Lee Mayers.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon Ilderton (James Jr.) and David Mayers; her sister Thomasine McCarthy (Mike); and her grandchildren, James Ilderton III (Wendy), Brianna Rogers, Thomas Rogers (Kate), Jennifer Valentine, Candice Collier (Jeff), Chesleigh Richardson, Kayla Courtney (Thomas), Raymond Jenkins and Ryan Mayers (Charity). She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Live Oak Memorial Gardens (3093 Ashley River Rd, Charleston, SC 29414).
