She was predeceased by: her husband Reverend Moses Phillip Pyatt; and her siblings, Ethel C. Dunham, Richmond Carter, Jr., Dorothy C. Williams, Mary "Millie" Brown, Thomas Carter, Nathan Carter, Elease Cooke, Lottie C. Nickens, Clifton Carter, Margaret C. Engram and Irene Coleman.
She is survived by: her son Rev. George Kenneth Carter of Columbia, SC; her siblings, Hester Moye and Albert "Juicy" Carter of Camden, SC; her grandchildren, Kenneth Avon Carter (Trisha) of Baltimore, MA and Hope Johnson (Adrian) of Macon, GA; her great grandchildren, Jessica, Kameron Johnson of Macon, GA and Kennedy Bonnafon (Reggie) of Louisville, KY; her nieces, Alice Pyatt of Charleston, SC and Gwendolyn P. Marion (Benjamin); her great great grandchildren, Blue and Ace Bonnafon of Louisville, KY; and her daughter-in-law Henrietta Macon (James) of Columbia, SC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
Viewing was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Powers Funeral Home (832 Ridgeway Rd, Lugoff, SC 29078). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Matthews United Methodist Church (1186 Black River Rd, Camden, SC 29020).
