With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Clyde Herman Shokes Sr. in Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on December 9, 2024 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Shokes and Cassie Church Shokes; his wife Millie Shokes; his brothers, Kenneth Shokes and Harral Shokes; and his daughter Laura Shokes Mappus.
He is survived by: his children, Clyde H. Shokes, Jr., Cassie Shokes and Lee Shokes (Sue); his grandchildren, Adam Shokes, Daniel Shokes, Ryan Shokes, Fran Cross, Rev. Mary Finklea and Tee Mappus; and his great grandchildren, Lauren Cross, Anna Cross, Tucker Mappus and Will Mappus.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Charleston (48 Meeting St, Charleston, SC 29401).
