He is survived by: his wife Mary Helen Othersen of Charleston, SC; his children, Claus B. Othersen Jr., Helen N. Geddings and Caroline O. Fredrickson; and his siblings, H. Biemann Othersen Jr., Lydia Southworth and Catherine Johnson. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
