She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Robinson, Jr.; her parents, Harry Rhett Sr. and Daisy Simmons Rhett; and her siblings, Harold Rhett, Raymond Rhett, Sr., Frances Green and Almena R. Perkins.

She is survived by: her son Emmett Lamont Avery (Michelle); her nephew Raymond Rhett, II (Mildred); and her grandchildren, Emmett Avery, II, Destinee Hitchens Martinez (Teddie), Jurnee Hitchens and Nicholas. She is also survived by nephews, relatives and friends.

I met her before her grandson Emmett was born . He was the light of her life and she showed it by the deep love she gave to him . I loved to see Brenda laugh! Her whole body shook . She was a pleasure to be around and was a sharp dresser!. We stayed in contact even after she moved to SC ! I will truly miss her, RIP Brenda.”
