He is survived by: his spouse Gayl Scherb Bracken; his children, Mark Edward Bracken of Summerville, Beth Lafave of Stuart, FL and Jennifer B. Dingler (Bruce) of Chappells; his sister Kathy Hile Bracken of Thompson, CT; his grandchildren, Amy (Carson), Amanda (James), Ryan and Rachel; and his great grandchildren, Addyson, Sullivan, Fletcher, James Jr. and Elizabeth.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Christ Community Lutheran Church (8315 Dorchester Rd, Charleston, SC 29418).
