He was predeceased by: his parents, William Shannon Hancock, Sr. and Jessie Mae Hair Hancock; his wife Ruth Hammond Hancock; his sister Sara Ann Hancock Oliver; and his son Joseph Shannon Hancock.
He is survived by: his daughter Pamela Hancock Chapman (Tony); his grandsons, Shannon Anthony Chapman (Amanda), Joseph William Chapman (Michelle) and John Andrew Chapman; and his great grandchildren, Lily, Lena, Henry, Harper, Riley and Sawyer.
He attended church faithfully until the Covid epidemic and his failing health kept him from actively participating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.
