Pat Skees Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Pat Skees of Chapin, South Carolina, born in Bishopville, South Carolina, who passed away on December 2, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom Moore Skinner and Elizabeth Skinner; her husband Richard "Dick" Skees; her sister Sylvia Skinner; her son-in-law Doug Shealy; and her nephew Wesley Owen.

She is survived by: her children, Robyne Shealy of Chapin and Lee Essick of Lexington; her grandchildren, Adam Shealy (Denise) and Taylor Essick; her great grandchild Vance Shealy; her sister Tommye Owen of Charleston; her niece Jennifer Pappas (Joseph); her nephew Matthew Owen; her great-niece Maddie Allen; and her great-nephews, Sullivan McMahan, Tad Owen and Gage Owen.

She shared her time and sewing talents with the Heartfelt Stitches Prayer Shawl Ministry group who sewed and donated lap blankets and quilts to nursing homes and individuals going through difficult times in their lives, as well as blankets for newborns needing to stay in the hospital.
