He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernice Clarke and Benjamin Franklin Thomas; and his grandson Gabriel Michael Coy. He is survived by: his stepson Norm; his wife Barbara Courtney; his children, Gayle Davis (Ken) of Toccoa, GA, Pam Coy (Bruce) of Summerville and Clark Thomas (Laura) of Irmo; his grandchildren, Kristin Davis (Destin), Julian Coy (Kristen), Carra Beam (Jesse), Rachel Thomas, Adam Thomas and Sarah Thomas; and his great grandchild Jackson Ryan Gabriel Coy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem UMC or to Epworth Children's Home.
