She was predeceased by: her parents, James Mercer and Lona Simmons Mercer; her son Gary Martin Rackley; her husband Linwood James Rackley; and her siblings, Clara Leonard, Vera Fipps Dawkins, Leola Spivey, Donald Mercer, Hazel Boswell Andrews Dale, Cecil Mercer, Howard Mercer and Edward Mercer.
She is survived by: her former husband Col. Henry O'Neil Thompson of September; her daughter Donna Rackley Cole (Fred); her stepdaughters, Patty Thompson Rainwater (Jerry) and Fran Thompson Cass Skoog (Karl); and her stepgrandchildren, Kimberley Cole Stoudemire (Doug), Ryan Cole (Maria), Bryce Stoudemire Rish (William), Cole Stoudemire, Charles Cole and Lily Cole.
