He was predeceased by: his parents, Vern Smith and Annie Mae Weed Meetze; his brother James Herbert Meetze; and his sons-in-law, John Andrew Meetze Jr. and Kerry D. Davidson.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Rhoden Meetze; his children, Donna M. Faircloth (Ronnie) of Chapin, Joye M. Davidson of West Columbia and Marion Michael Meetze (Nancy) of Youngstown, Ohio.; and his grandchildren, John Andrew Meetze III (Kim), Brandy F. Kaiser (Kevin), Christy M. Jeffcoat (Wayne), Melissa M. Hill (Travis), Nikki Meetze, Hillary M. Campbell (Ethan) and Donny Davidson. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
