He was predeceased by: his wife Jean. He is survived by: his daughter Leeza (Steven Fenton); his significant other Donnis Broome; his children, Carlos Gibbons Jr. (Anne Marie) and Cam Gibbons; his grandchildren, Troy, Leksy, Nathan, Taylor (Andrew Weyl), Kelly and Blake; his great grandchild Isla; his daughter-in-law Anne Marie Richardson Gibbons; his sister Ferrell Crowley; his niece Beth Horton (Billy); and his close friends, Gene Swygert and Glenda Hiller.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Temples-Halloran Funeral Home Chapel (5400 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212). The military honors was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at the Bush River Memorial Gardens (5400 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212).

In honor of those who can no longer remember, the family would like to ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Leeza's Care Connection, (a nonprofit supporting families facing Alzheimer's http://www.leezascareconnection.org) to help continue his work to ensure that those who are forgetting will not be forgotten.
